My Uncle has some land here in Austin T.X..He said that the midden was so dug out that I would be lucky to find a broke. He was right untill yesterday! While pokeing around,I found a large tree stump that had been covered with throw. So I started to dig around the roots,(that always worked out in the past)First I found that Fairland & the Mano. The other point and the broke followed shortly after.Thinking that I had found A un-dug spot ,I went to work pulling up the stump.Well long story short,I was right!I found both drills within 30 mins. of eachother!(just long enuff to do my happy dance..lol)I have only been looking & collecting artifacts for less then 3 years.Tools are my fav. & I always wanted to find some drills, paleo.& to be in the cornertang club.Only in my dreams did I think it would happen in the same day!Thats how my best day ever went.Thanx again gang....Geo

Man those drills are both super but......that corner tang is really nice. Congrats on two super tools.

Not too shaby, for being the first two drills that I have ever found..Hopefuly not the last..lol

I called it a "corner notched" in my first post and everyone else is calling it a "corner tang". Is there a difference? I am not trying to be a smartass I am just trying to learn ;D

Thanks, Charlie

I don't think so...I think tang is just slang. You had it right..

sweet, great day of hunting / digging. Was this at one of those pay to dig places in Tx?
