Ok, finally I think I have gotten my camera and format set up right. Here are a few to share. The ring was found at the local tot lot and the dime and penny were found on private land (with permission as always). The Sheriff's pin was found on my home in NC and the Shell was found again on the same private land on a differant day. So look forward to getting out this weekend with my new White's XLT.

thats a darling ring and I really like the badge

Wow nice finds. I like that badge. You don't see many of those on the forums. Maybe you can find the person that it was issued to.

oh nice finds, and love the badge too

Wow, nice finds! I love the badge. Have you tried to find
anything on the owner? WTG!

I've always wanted to live in a county where the sheriff's name is Moose. Nice finds.

I live in Cumberland County and Moose Butler is still the Sheriff.

That is a sweet badge, it would be nice to get a date of when it was used. It is always nice to find Merc's.

NICE LOOT outstanding !!! guzz1

the sheriff's item really isn't a Sheriff's badge. It's a sheriffs pin. Something like a lapel pin. It is small and the back part of the item was broken off. I tried to do some research on the Sheriff and he is still in office. He appears to have some age on him. Couldn't find any 411 on when he was elected or any particular 411 on the pin. It was pretty cool to find that in my old back yard. I grew up in Fayetteville NC, Cumberland Co. My dad retired from Ft. Bragg back in 1982 and that's the same year I went active duty. Seems almost like yesterday.

Nice finds and good job on the photos ... it's neat to find items that relate back to a particular person or place like the Cumberland County sherriff pin ... congratz and continued good hunting ~ Jimmy

Call him at ( 910-677-5400). I typed in his name and it came right up. What a deal. He has an email, too. Like the reply above mine stated, he is still in office around Fayetteville, N.C. I wonder how long ago he lost it or????

Great job CJH.

Gary,
Very cool find. Maybe "Moose" could turn you on to some MD spots for returning that. ;D
Neat find.

I hear that. I graduated from college and was commissioned an ensign in the Navy in 1982. Retired in 2003, and looking back the time seemed to have flown by (although there were some nights on the four hour midwatch that seemed to last 20 years by themselves).
