Got myself a Minelab E-trac for Xmas plus a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 (from kellyco for $1).
Took it to a modern school yard that totally covers what is listed as a school in the 1930's aerial photos of my town. I've been there before, but I was just trying to learn what you find with a certain range or Fe-Co numbers. So I pretty much only dug 10 to 15 Fe - 40 to 45 Co at any depth. Didn't see any deep targets.
What I found:
1 1929 wheat penny
13 pre-1981 pennies
1 memorial penny
8 clad dimes
1 clad quarter
Only other old coin I've ever found there is a 1944 dime. I didn't notice where the wheat penny was dug cause it was totally covered with red clay. Cleaned off at home to a nice green surface, so it has been in the ground for a while. All the other coppers haven't aged as much.
I'm really liking the E-trac, and my trash pocket had fewer than a dozen pieces of trash.
Happy New Years all.
