Hey all, I have been CRHing for about 2 weeks now, and until yesterday had gone through about $450 in rolls with nothing to show for it. I bought the half bag from my bank yesterday, ($852.50) and was stoked to see silver peeking out at me as I carried it to the car.

Went through it last night with my wife (lucky me, she actually likes doing this with me!) and had some great results.

Final tally:
38 - 40% Kennedy's
33 - 90% (5 Walkers!, 13 Franklins, 15 Kennedy's)
2 - 2001's (someone said to keep all 2001 and later...can someone explain that to me?)

Overall a 4.1% keeper rate. I am now definitely stoked about this. I can't describe the feeling when we pulled that first Walker from the pile!
We also found several car wash tokens, 10 deutchmarks, $2 Canadian, and 2 - 10 franc coins. I was surprised at the amount of "crap" in the bag. Is that normal?

Pics below:

Enjoy and good hunting!
Jim

Correction... keep all 2002 and later. There's nothing special about 2001 halves.

Sounds like you had a great bag there! Hope your good fortune holds out.

The 10 Deutschmark coins are usually silver. Might want to post a picture, or describe in more detail.... date, profile, etc.... they weren't circulating coins during the 15 years I spent in Germany, but were special issue for collectors.

First off, congrats on what is known a a "dream bag". I have bought 2 bags form the coin machine. Both times because I could see silver. Both were $500 bags. The first one was about $12.50 short. Probably because all the junk that went through counted as halves. No complaints tho, I pulled 444 keeper out of it, 431 of them were 40%ers. The second bag (which I got yesterday) had exactly $500 in halves. It also had 2 quarters, one penny, a smashed quarter, a Maui elongated penny, a car wash token and a Swiss coin. So it was actually over. I kinda like the "extras" that came with it. I put the oddball stuff in flips and put it in my CRH collection. Below are pictures of the junk from the 2 bags.

I looked at the coin again after your post Robin, my bad, it was a 5 Deutschemark coin, dated 1986 - F. has an eagle on one side and a 5 on the other.

Thanks for the info.

Jim
