Today I went down South to meet w/ Gunrunner in N Ga , Was 21 degrees here and by the time I had got there it was 26 . Went to an early 1900's school and got to work . Most of the front area had a layer of gravel , Gunrunner hit near the building and I went to the ball field . Quiet as a church mouse
Might be me , but I like these challenging type of places
I'm just starting to get used to my SE Pro Tried the number game on it , but just too much info , now I just hunt by sound and the cross hairs on the screen .
Any way , the field was quiet , so I decided to dig all low and mid signals . Dug three nic's and a handfull of tabs & other misc. stuff . I actually found two rings today , but the other is an old copper ring . Got to the end of the hunt and greg called me over and got me to run the SE over a couple of gold rings he found the other day , one read at pull tab and the other rang in the zincish range . I had been digging all nickle tones to this point so didn't think nothing about it , not 10 minutes later got a nickle signal and sure enough , got a nickle . Got up and about 18 inches away , got another nic signal . Pro Pointer showed it shallow so I just stuck the blade tip in and popped it out . No , NO , couldn't be !!! Instantly called Greg over and got him to look at it , my very first thoughts were Electroplated
Ended up being 10K and legit !!
I,m going first chance to get it cleaned and appraised .
