I went back to a site in a Township Park that is hundreds of acres of field and was happy to see that it had been cut down and baled.
The home site shows up on 1850-1910 maps then disappears. First signal was an ornate pewter spoon bowl, then a scratchy 21.

No big deal for y’all in in MD, VA, NC, SC, but finding this in W PA was really cool. I believe it is a Civil War 3 Ringer. Definitely a bucket lister for me!
The VDI’s were challenging here as there was a lot of iron and varying levels of cut wheat to navigate. I got a weak 38/39 on the Nox, this is silver dollar range, that was tight and repeatable from all angles and disappeared when lifting. Dug a big plug expecting the signal to blow up and be a chunk of iron, but it remained small, so another scoop and was very surprised to see this.

LC’s are usually a strong 29-31 signal.
10 feet away and had the same 38/39 weak repeatable signal, similar 8-10” down and a nice suspender clasp pops out.

This religious piece is in Latin I believe. I’ve found several similar ones, but my first in Latin.

Here is the handful of keepers.

Along with the nice 1828 Coronet LC, there is a really wiped but ID’able Coronet LC and a smooth KG.
Here is the rest of the high tones.

We spent an hour of our 3 hour hunt searching for another site further down the field with no luck, so I am looking forward to hitting this site again with my small coil and working it really slow to see what else pops out.
Good luck out there!
