I'm fairly new to this whole coin roll hunting thing, and today I just finished my first box of nickels!

The loot:
War nickels:
- 1943-P
- 1943-S
- 1942-P

Pre 1960: 33 (not including war nickels)

Hole fillers:
- 1939
- 1947-D
- 1949-D
- 1952
- 1956-D
- 1965
- 1968-S

I'm pretty confident that I did fairly well on my first box. I didn't find a buffalo nickel, but I think the 3 war nickels makes up for it! With this box I was also able to finish my 1962-1995 whitman album, leaving only the pre 1962 left to go. I'm only about 30% through it, but hopefully not for much longer!

How did I do?

HH!

You're right on average with my pre-'60 totals / box (34).

You rocked out on war nickels, I get a little under 1 per box; others here get a little more than 1 per box.

I myself pulled a 1942 tonight - the NOT war nickel '42 :(

you did great man that is one awesome box keep it up!@

Thanks everyone! I can't wait until I can make it back to the bank again so I can order another box. I really want to order another box of Nickels, but I also want to see if I can order a box of dimes if I can gather up enough capital.

First box and I'm already hooked :laughing9:

I did a box of nickels today and pulled a buffalo and 3 war nickels from it. I usually average 1 or 2 a box.

HH,
Cody.

Well done on that first box. Hope you get more.

You did good for sure. You are way above average at least in my neck of the woods. Nickels are fun to search as they always give up something. Remember to keep putting those sets together. Toughest nickel to find is 50D and toughest War nickel is 43D in my experience. Good Luck. Dennis.

I'd take a war nickel over a common Buffalo any day. I consider a key date Buffalo just as good as a War Nickel, as I'm out for the silver. Good work on your first nickels! The are fun because even if you don't find silver, you still find some really cool stuff! Keep on keepin' on!
