I went to the same spot I found a 1820 large cent and a couple of flat buttons a couple of days ago. The spot is loaded with iron so it took me a while, but I found a eagle button, flat button with a makers mark labeled double quality, and a trouser button with a makers mark labeled Sherman Bronson Waterbury. The strange thing is 5 of the buttons and the large cent I found at the site, were all in a 15 foot radius.

I was walking back to my truck and noticed a massive oak tree that had fallen down, so I decided to search the area. It was only about 100 yards from the original site .With in seconds I found another flat button with no mark, a buckle, and what seems to be some type of handle labeled parner. Does any one have any Idea what it may be? It looks like a toilet handle to me..lol.

Could be a toilet flush handle, possibly an old window latch handle? Handle for something in any case. Nice old buckle too.

HI; The Button is a Civil War Infantry Button noted by the Letter I on the Eagles Crest. Nice find. PEACE:RONB

Nice to get into the 18th C with the buckle.
