What a heart breaker but still amazing find , I haven’t found one yet it’s probably the top item on my bucket list or close to it.

Way cool. In over 30 years, I've yet to find even a piece of a for sure Clovis.

Where in illinois? I am in Wayne county and have yet to find any part of a clovis. What types of areas do you look for stuff that old¿

I've found a couple. One whole, one fragment. The whole one came from Piatt Co. IL, which is between Champaign and Decatur. It's a midget, sharpened down, but it's whole and it's MINE! I think the material is Sonora flint from KY but not positive. Gary

Hunt the fields with the highest ridges. Find the highest farm ground in your county. In paleo times the glacier was still receding and it was wet, wet, wet. Paleo sites are rare. You just have to find a random point they lost. High ground is the key. Gary
