I found this 1783 Nova Constellatio coin a little over a week ago in a area where I was told the indians and revolutionary troops traveled. It took me about four days of cleanning before I could ID it. I sure wish it had better detail but I guess thats to be expected when copper is in the ground that long. Ive only been detecting with a Ace 250 for about two months so I hope that my next oldie will be in a little better condition. I really don't think I will ever find another one this old.

Great lump of copper! :D Sure beats a washer that size. :-\

Keep @ it and HH!! ;D

Nice find, VT is a great place to find the oldies!

too bad the ground didnt leave much detail for you. thats the way it goes sometimes. :-\ still a great find! congrats on your first! there will be more!

Unfortunatly most coppers seem to come out of the ground with alot of corrosion. Sometimes you get lucky though. Keep hitting that spot.

very nice coin! Can't make out much of the detail though. That has probably been under the dirt for so long! :o

Oh man I can't believe it a ACE 250 found a Coppa, son of a Gun! I thought the only detectors that could
find them was a Whites, well I'll be darn. Just kidding, Great Find. The ACE 250 is a Great Detector.

The first year I used mine I found over 4000 coins with it. I also found a 6 pound cannonball. It truly is a Fine detector and Now I know it will find a Copper.

Thanks for posting your pic. Congrats!!!!
