Ooking to delve into this hobby within the year. Say I am willing to spend roughly $100-300, what should I aim towards? Is it just personal preference? Should i hit local banks, or national branches? Grocery stores.

It is all about preference, I prefer national branches because you can easily obtain more coin from them since they have a larger customer base, as for denominations to search, I do everything.
