Hello, All;
After reading magnificent posts here for God knows how long, and wondering whether I could even operate a metal detector much less find anything, I went out with the ACE 250 my wife and kids got me for my birthday.
Now understand that I'm a coin collector who has always WANTED to try this detector thing out, but never the gumption to follow through.
So I put it together and go out in the back yard and run it over a few coins that my kids threw out there and buried. Just put it in coin mode and got to it.
Found 'em all: hmmmmmm.
Went down to the neighborhood swimming pool park here in Kingwood and ran it through the gravel in the playground area and found 3 dimes, many cents, a few nickels with no problem whatsoever. Dug no trash.
Went down to the playground area of the oldest elementary in Kingwood, dating to only the late 70's. In 45 minutes had 3 quarters, 3 dimes, 5 nickels and lotsa cents, with one Canadian cent. This was outta the box by a novice in every sense of the word.
All I have to say is:
I'M HOOKED!
I'M HOOKED!
IT'S GOT ME!!
Day two and beyond! Silver, here I come!
(yes I know I'll dig my share of trash and just dirt, but my gosh I'm hooked!)
