Hello all. I haven't been detecting for anything but gold nuggets in the last 7 or so years and only about 2 times a year at that, so I am a bit out of practice. But today I picked up a equinox 800 at a local shop and decided to give it a whirl in the yard of a 1949 home that the wife and I are flipping. I was pleased with the results considering that my old machine was a nautillus DMC IIB.
I might need some tips from the pro's out there, though. I am used to a tonal machine. What is the best way to pinpoint with a minelab? I left several good signals in the ground because I could not isolate them from the junk next door.
Is a handheld pinpointer worth the investment? Or is there a trick on this machine that I can use?
Anyway, to the finds: 1 1942D merc, 4 wheats from the 40s and 50s, 1 Jefferson nickel (52), 6 memorial cents, and two smashed souvenir pennies (Fort Collins Colorado and Excaliber Casino, Vegas)

Thanks for looking, and good luck out there,
NZ49er.
