well guys tahnks for the advice and welcome in my earlier post...i checked out the back yard didn;t do too much but found a 1977 penny...lol... and i guess there used to be a fence here at on point cause i found a metal pipe stuck in concrete.... gotta start somewhere

What kind of detector were you useing,It's going to get better, just stick to it do your reserch ,clam jump if you have to.

I'm using a tracker IV it's nothing special but it's fun. not to sound stupid but i'm a newbie so what's clam jump? I'm working on the research prts now...i just don;t know how to find out if where i want to go is legal and how to go about getting permission
