My 12 yo daughter and I got out today with the AT Pro I got in yesterday. We hit the site I hit yesterday with my ace 250 which had a schoolhouse on it back in 1900. Im learning the detector and all its sounds so we dug up a lot of aluminum cans and some rusty metal just to verify the tones.
First cool thing we dug up was this big brass piece at 6 inches. I had no clue what it was, but showed it to my dad and he said its a horse hane from an old horse collar. I found this picture online and sure enough, thats exactly what it is. Cool piece!
Then, we pulled this out of the ground right next to a large old oak tree sitting two foot from the road. This is our first silver coin ever found! We were very excited. It was right at 5 inches down.
Also found and old major jar lid with an intact perfect condition glass jar seal. Havent seen one of the old white glass one seals before. Pretty cool. Too bad it wasnt on top of a jar of silver and gold.
