First detector

Did anyone on here ever build their first detector? I built mine from some electronics magazine. It was a beat freque and it worked quite well ,for the time period. Breadboard construction and hand wound 6 in coil. I still have it and the little transistor radio. Ah nostalgia when days were simpeler. Bob

No Bob, but I did build a radio when I was a kid. Detectors today are so far advanced from those BFO's.

I used a converted army mine detector.
