first ever 2 silver day---a reale treat

back to a hay field near historic New Paltz NY where I got the Carolus III 1781 1 Reale. spent 20 minutes excavating an old pipe cap with the rookie newbie, now on to the real hunt. first winner a holed 1/2 Reale 175? King Ferdinand VI, o over M with o toward center of coin. last digit of date is gone. next is the '06 Barber and last the buckle. got a half horseshoe and assorted iron crappola. FMERG and the rookie left with nothing but their wounded pride.

Sounds like a pretty promising hay field. Certainly a lot easier to hunt than an overgrown foundation site in the woods this time of year. Keep hitting it hard!
