First ever Chauffeur's Badge and 1886 medallion thingy!

Hello everyone!

I got out for a couple hours after work tonight. Got permission to hunt a construction site in the small town of Coburg (just north of Eugene Oregon). After 23 years at metal detecting I dug my first ever chauffeur's badge ~ 1930 State of Oregon! Also dug a medal or medallion that reads LADIES OF THE GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC - 1886.

SO MUCH FUN!! I love this hobby

Didn't think I would be "that" interested in this thread. ...Wrong!

GREAT FINDS!! AWESOME!!

Thats one for the books !

lot of guys collect those chauffeur's badges-
the other thing would have had a ribbon with bar on top just like a regular military medal worn on the breast
cool find - I found one similar for retired veterans of the grand rep. - need to be complete to get good value
but look great in a display case

Congrats on the great finds. I have only dug toy badges so far. Wow, I'd love to see either one on the hole any day.

You certainly will remember the day that those two items were dug. The Grand Army of the Republic item is on most hunters want to find list.

That badge is a great find

Nice badge Neil, I have been lucky enough to find three so far myself, and they all came from construction sites....Great Find.

Hello oc. Those are two BAD-@$$ finds. Good Luck. C9
