That's awesome. The time spent with your son is the real treasure. Congratulations!

That's quite a haul for one box ! Back in 2012 my girlfriend picked up a few (9) rolls of half dollars ,to try CRH for the first time- all 9 were loaded with Franklins,Walkers ,less Kennedy's . At that time silver was close to $40.an ounce .

great job welcome to tnet :icon_thumleft:

buy a Redbook-- AND---

go back & check for ERRORS on all 2500 cents

greasers, O/C's, Cuds, cracks, DD's, Lams, clashes & more

AND-- Canada '96 & older are 98% copper-- worth 2 cents. no more being made--- & errors are plentiful from 1922 & up. OLD foreign coppers can be $$

I still like pennies even after half a MIL. $ searched of all denom's :laughing9:

Go back for more cent boxes from that bank to "mine the vein" that box had at least 10x the wheat you will normally find. And there could be brother/sister boxes with similarly good results.

What dates from the thirties or earlier did you find?

Went through the wheats and the Canadians. Not sure what to look for on the 2009 Lincoln cents. Don't mind the spelling error on ment oops "mint"!

Congrats! Now you're hooked. Don't expect those numbers as the norm.

You did really good on the wheats in that box!

My best box ever contained 8 wheats. That's a fantastic box! :icon_thumleft:

The 2009s are known for Doubled Die errors. Do a quick google search and you will find several websites that will show you the varieties.

and great haul on those wheats!

:)

Have you thought about saving "COPPERS", those dated 1981 and prior, plus the 1982 but you need a gram scale to determine the difference from zincs on the '82s. You had a very good Wheaties box, I normally find 10-15 per box. Nice find.

Well went back for another box and found 6 wheat. Definitely was spoiled with that first box!
