Hi!

This is my very first silver coin found while metal detecting. I was at a friend's house who lives in a very old house in town, and I asked her if I could detect her yard. The house used to be a kindergarten.

Found a 2002 penny first, then a lawn mower part (recent), then, in the third hole, I found....

A 1962 silver dime!

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to check the place further. I will be going back ASAP, though, so wish me luck!! I'm not sure how far back the house dates, but I know the house itself is over 100 years old, and the church two blocks away dates back to 1784. Should make for some good diggins!!

Congratulations on the Rosie. May you find many more! Silver is always a joy to find. Good Luck on checking the rest of the yard. It'd be sweet if you could hunt the old Church grounds.

Congrats on your first ,,Lots more to come

nice job on the silver rosie! Remember even if the structure is new, the ground is much older. There is a chance that an old coin was dropped on that property and not built over! :)

it is what was on the land in the past as well as whats on there now that matters ( so long as the "new buildings"didn't cover up the old time sweet spots )-- past land useage might have been very differant than current useage. --todays empty lot might have been a store in the past . --get to know your local history and locations of places and things in the past and watch your old silver finds jump.

That thing is ANCIENT!!!
Uh, wait a minute............That's the year I was born.
Nice NEW silver coin!

Congrats on your first silver. Heres to hoping you find many more.
