First-ever silver coin for newbie!!

Hi!

This is my very first silver coin found while metal detecting. I was at a friend's house who lives in a very old house in town, and I asked her if I could detect her yard. The house used to be a kindergarten.

Found a 2002 penny first, then a lawn mower part (recent), then, in the third hole, I found....

A 1962 silver dime!

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to check the place further. I will be going back ASAP, though, so wish me luck!! I'm not sure how far back the house dates, but I know the house itself is over 100 years old, and the church two blocks away dates back to 1784. Should make for some good diggins!!

I am going back to the same house today to check for more goodies. Send lots of lucky thoughts my way!! Hopefully, I'll have something interesting to post tonight.

I spent a good portion of the last two days digging holes to end up with various pieces of 'junque' and 'crappe' plus 45 cent in clad. Missed silver by one year with a 1965 dime.

.... which means I'm due a goodie or two today!!
