I received my used but new to me Whites Surf master PI DF today around 2:00 and went straight to the beach, after a quick test with some coins on top o the sand I felt I had a rudimentary idea of what to listen for... This is the result of two hours. I didn't find anything over 6 inches deep, but I think that I wasn't tuned into what to listen for with the deeper targets. My only complaint is that when the gain button is turned off it keeps spinning, I have to twist it back to its original position each time.

I DONT THINK ITS SUPPOSED TO KEEP SPINNING - YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONTACT WHITES ON THAT

Happy you were able to pull some of those "cut your feet" finds out of the water - well done!

Old pieces of Lobster Trap and pennies, looks like our whites are tuned to the same kind of treasure.

you need a .050 allen wrench to tighten the set screw on the knob. Get it to the "off" position. You should feel it "click" into the "off position" Make sure the set screw is snug. Next time at the beach, set the gain to the 3 o'clock position and the pulse delay to 7 o'clock. I found a Tiffany Plat950 6mm band at about 20" with these settings. I pawned my 14K band and now wear this one size 12 worth $2000.00
