First FIND!!! - from dozed 1912 house

ok, this is my first find, it's from a dozed 1912 house in loma linda, california. NO coins found yet (that's what I want!), and had a lot of troubles still with nothing in the holes after I dig and the single goes away, but...I contacted Melnor and I sent a photo to them and they are looking the production year up on this design.
tried the suggestions regarding the pioneer 202 people gave.

I found a few like that, and have used a few like that. I think it's 1950's to mid 1960's ventage. And in that condition it looks like it wasn't in the ground very long.

Nothing wrong with that, I am sure there are plenty of more finds.

Normally if you dig and the signal disappears then it one of two things:

Its fallen back into the hole - so clear out the soil from the bottom of the hole

Or its a iron nail (for example) & when brought to the surface your discrimination kicks in & no signal.

Also in sticky mud conditions it could be stuck to the spade or the bottom of your foot.
