well got my new dfx Monday and finally got to get out to try it out i have a new spot that i found last fall its a resort and once had a mill there its also next to a big spring that's about 100 yards from a major river so i know it has seen allot of people there i have used my xlt there and picked up a few mercs and wheats but today i picked up a nice coin not sure what it is its a first for me anyway i know i have passed it with the xlt i believe it was about 8 in deep or so i thought it was some play money at first but after i got to looking at it it kind of looks like some of the older coins some of the members here have found so i was jumping for joy to find something real old its about the size of a dime I'm not sure of the date what i can see is 1- 72 i think can it be 1772 the words on the front are carolu 111. that's all i can make out on the front on the back is Rispan.ind-------m.f. or something like that i will hit this spot again I'm waiting on my outher two coils for the dfx a 12in spider and a 5.3 eclipse i think I'm going camping real soon thanks for looking bjb

Anyway you can take clearer pictures? And maybe enlarge them for us?

Definitely colonial Spanish silver but a little too small to see well. Nice find

Your the proud owner of a Spanish Silver coin... :icon_king: Way to go on first hunt with new detector....

bjblas...The coin is a 1real Spanish coin. With Carlous III i'm sure the date is 1772. Very nice fine. TomB
