My friend called and said she lost her wedding ring today. She thought it might be in the leaves in her yard. The challenge was her yard is HUGE and has slopes, trees and thousands of leaves. I went over with my new first ever metal detector to see if I could help. We started in the backyard and quickly progressed to the front slope of the house. I told her it might take a while ... like a week! I suggested we start scanning the bags on the outside. Bag 1 nothing, bag 2 nothing, bag 3 ding, ding! We emptied out the bag and found the ring. We concluded her ring search in under 10 minutes.

2 things make this find so satisfying
1. She kinda scoffed when I bought the metal detector a little while ago. Said I'd never make my money back
2. Her wedding ring contained her mother's diamond who died when she was just 42.

Now she's calling me her hero! But really I just felt so good finding it for her. It was worth more than gold. And now I know it really works!!!

These are the posts that warm my heart! The ring was REALLY LOST, and ta da ! The detectorist saves the day, God bless you both abuntandently.

Awesome!

1.)We absolutely need a picture of the return!
2.)Nothing quite as sweet as taming a doubter.

Congrats to you both

Don't want to hijack the post, but Brohter Al, I just read your detector list in your profile.

I think it's safe to say you're a metal detector collectorist!

Get a picture of the ring and you with her. We need to see her joy!

Will post pic tomorrow. Still feeling pretty pumped about it. Thanks to all for the feedback on my first post find

I probably would have not thought to check the bags. Good thing you did!

Great job on thinking the lawn bags and more then likely the easiest! Good Karma to you!

Congratulations, what a beautiful recovery for your friend! I hope she bakes you a delicious pie for Thanksgiving, or some such...

I will never forget how I felt after recovering and returning my first Gold Wedding Band. Not all of my searches have been successful, but the ones that were always make me feel good. Thank you and congrats for finding the ring for the former Non Believer,, lol
