My friend called and said she lost her wedding ring today. She thought it might be in the leaves in her yard. The challenge was her yard is HUGE and has slopes, trees and thousands of leaves. I went over with my new first ever metal detector to see if I could help. We started in the backyard and quickly progressed to the front slope of the house. I told her it might take a while ... like a week! I suggested we start scanning the bags on the outside. Bag 1 nothing, bag 2 nothing, bag 3 ding, ding! We emptied out the bag and found the ring. We concluded her ring search in under 10 minutes.
2 things make this find so satisfying
1. She kinda scoffed when I bought the metal detector a little while ago. Said I'd never make my money back
2. Her wedding ring contained her mother's diamond who died when she was just 42.
Now she's calling me her hero! But really I just felt so good finding it for her. It was worth more than gold. And now I know it really works!!!
