First finds from a newbie.

We got our first metal detector today and found some unusual stuff. A Toonie and penny from the 80's. No real treasure, but very excited about what we might find on our property before the snow comes our way.

There was an old livery stable on our property years ago. I hope we find some old tools! Sorry about the size of the pictures. I did adjust the size with my photo program. Not sure why it didn't work.

I found this site years ago while searching antiques. Started reading about all the hunting and wondered
what might be on our property. I finally couldn't resist trying this! Read all the comments here and
decided to get a Tesoro Compadre. Without this site, I would have never done this, so thanks!

Interest in Antiques or coins is a good start, its what I was into as a kid & before I started detecting at 11. A love of history will see you through the hard slog, to the good stuff.
