Hello all,
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, wife and I moved to Birmingham recently and had the last week off for Christmas so finally got to do some metal detecting in my new surroundings. The photos are from 2 hunts. First hunt several days ago produced 5 wheaties 1919-1945, the 2 Alabama luxury 1 tax tokens, the presidential shell gas token from 1968, the Masonic lodge induction coin (a guess) and the 1943-d Mercury dime! Today's hunt produced oddly enough a Louisiana 1 luxury tax token and the 1942 Mercury dime, both dimes are pretty and were found at about an inch depth. Couldn't even buy a wheat today but I'll take the Mercury dimes all day! I feel sorry for everyone snowed in, we'll try to keep frequently posting down here in the South to keep y'all entertained until winter is over! Oh yeah, both hunts were at local parks with history dating back to WW II so nothing too old. Also, found maybe around $3 in clad.
