Howdy folks, for Fathers Day I upgraded to an AT Pro from an ACE 350. Been real pleased so far.
Here are the finds from my first few hunts.

I went to the big civil war camp here in Raleigh and found pretty much all of this stuff except for the pocketknife. Found the knife on the grounds of a late 1800s church grounds.

Top left is civil war era I think. It has the letters I and P beside the tree in the middle. It appears to be a cap or something similar as it has a lip like you push it down over the top of something. No idea what it is, so any help identifying that or the artwork on the front would be great

Then last night I went to a spot that I have hounded with my ace 350. I found my only two silver coins of the year at this site. Last night I found 6 wheaties and this 1912 V nickel - my first one!

I've been in a junk funk lately and haven't found anything worth sharing with the community, finding that V nickel really has helped.

As always, thanks for stopping by and digging my digs! :icon_thumright: hope everyone is doing great, having fun, and living life.

Congratualtions on your first V-nickle! :occasion14:

Thanks folks. It was a good feeling. I knew exactly what it WASNT so i didnt spit on it and rub it lol - like i sometimes do out in the field.

Congrats on the acquisition of the AT Pro. I heard that some guy let you use his AT Pro, and you liked it, so I am glad to see that you were able to get one. It should be a relatively short learning curve... and from the looks of the above finds, you are already all over it! This machine will immediately improve your finds, I'll bet you a dollar on that... and no, not a rare Morgan dollar... one of those paper ones from my pocket!

Congrats on the V nickel!

Let me know the next time you make it to my town.
Best of luck to you brother.

On the V nickel, check by the left dot bottom for the elusive S mintmark.

Thank you for allowing me to use it that day, friend. I really appreciate it. Can't wait to do it again with you guys - and you do the same if you're up my way! Best of luck to you out there.

Thanks for pointing that out. It either has not mint or it's so far gone I cannot read it. Thanks for pointing that out, it's nice to have a semi key-date coin even it's the one with the least amount of worth. Didn't know that 1912 was the last date in the series, and that the 1913 version was so rare. good knowledge to have

Congrats on your first V nickel! I found my first one as well just a few weeks ago. You would have thought I had found a gold coin based on the excitement I felt when I saw it come out of the hole!

Same here brother. I've been in a funk lately with good finds, which only makes me want to hunt more lol, so this was a great treat for me. I sometimes have to repeat that it's not about the finds, but rather the hunt for treasure and not knowing whats in that hole in the ground.

Very well done. The AT PRO is an excellent machine. I got my best results using the PRO / ZERO mode.
The "CAP" you found appears to be the top of a ladies makeup compact. That would be my guess.
Congrats

Nice saves, can't wait to find my first V. Congrats...

Work that AT PRO good job I would be very happy with that hunt!

Congrats!

So, the rest of your finds were junk? So much for my finds! LOL

Congrats on a great first hunt with your new AT Pro!! Boy I love mine...just ask my wife. She is like "you spend so much time with it" and I just remind her that she (the AT Pro) is sooo good to me. She is black like midnight, she dances with me whenever I want, she whispers sweet nothings in my ears and most importantly she gives me beautiful golds!!!! Ah all in fun though I will tell you that we tend to joke around about it so much that people probably wonder if our marriage is actually struggling :icon_scratch:. Anyhow, can't wait to see what that baby continues to bring your way!

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought too. It was just found in the spot where soldiers camped, but it's had a lot of other traffic since colonial times as well. Appreciate it - it's old whatever it is

Yeah, not to sound high and mighty but i've been getting a lot of trash lately. Bottle caps, foil wrappers, pulltabs, screws, pipe fittings, roofing nails etc.

Although I have found five different toys this month. Four old toy cars and that small toy cap Gun up top. The action still works on it and the chamber is fully functional
