Well, fit found time to try out the AT Pro at a local field. In about an hour with my junior hunter I found the three coins below, a pull tab, and a tent stake. The property use really only goes back to 1963 so I guess it wasn't too bad. We had fun at any rate and that's all that mattered!

Nice.. I have fun every time my detector sounds off, no matter what it is?

I should note that my junior hunter is my daughter, I used an AT Pro.

nice finds congrats HH

Yeah! First Finds :hello2: and with your daughter as well!! Nothing better than that unless its doing it again! Some well stained coins but they are still legal tender in the U.S. though some banks get touchy when they get entire rolls of them, bunch of grumps. When I first started I found all sorts of stained coins and then I slowly learned how to use my machine and that brought about my finding my first Silver! Silver sounds off so sweet in the earphones of a detector! Then the first gold ring and I was totally hooked for life. Happy Trails to you and your young sidekick and many more good finds!........................63bkpkr

I like the - welcome to the addiction comment; why, because it was dead on. My friend, that is a great first find.
Remember, Family first, this hobby is the greatest on earth!!!!
AND the people you commo with are sharp and mostly honest. ENJOY!

Thanks everyone, now the real challenge begins... finding some legal places to hunt where you might find more than a 1963 quarter. I need to find some friendly farmers nearby!
