I have almost exclusively hunted halves, but today I hunted nickels for the first time. I have
ordered some half boxes for the first time in a year, but they haven't come in yet. So I bought
$100 of nickels. My knowledge of nickels is very limited. I know about silver nickels and have found
some in the past. Today I found a 1920 Buffalo and a 1943p silver nickel as well as several nickels
from the 40s and 50s. It was exciting seeing that Buffalo nickel.

Any certain nickels I should watch for?

I keep all the pre-1960s I find. Esp. look out for the low-mintage nickels (say less than 10 mil). Definitely look out for the elusive 1950 D nickel.

watch for either p or d 1950's, they are both low mintage.. watch for the 1955 p... really low mintage, only 8.2 million... I found 2 in one roll the other day, first time I've ever even seen one.. i was shocked... other than that, just buffalo's and war nickels. I usually watch for any s mints to, even the old s mints are usually less minted, but not always
