My I laws just bought a new house and I had to go over and do some work

And of course had to take the md

This is only about the fourth time I have got out to use my dm and haven't found anything really nice yet. Right as it's getting dark I got a good solid hit on my bounty hunter quicksilver. (Yes you can laugh lol). Dig A plug and about 3 inches down pops a 1951 pitt college ring
18k and 11 grams. Very worn out no initials

My favorite part about the find was my 8 yr old daughter yelling it's gold when I pulled it from the hole!!!!!! Can't wait to go hunting again tomorrow

Great find - congrats on your first Golden Ticket! :occasion14:

That's an awesome find and worth about $350 for scrap...congrats.

Great find let the addiction begin lol. At least it's a healthy addiction.

Thanks guys. So excited. And what a way to start a hobby lol

The stone looks really good on the ring. Does anyone know if they used real gems back in 51?

What an excellent first gold! Congratulations.

That's great, I would have loved to have seen and heard your daughter yelling "it's gold" that is worth more than the ring.

Just keep this in mind............you'll probably dig 16,363 pull tabs before the next one!:laughing7:

SUPER score man. NICE

In the few short weeks that inhave been detecting. I think I already have found 16,362 pull tabs lol. Sometimes if you squint the gold ones look like rings too. Haha

Good for you.

Awesome first gold ring ! Bet your daughter is real proud of you.
Sounds like adventures are ahead in the in-laws yard! Let the fun begin! GL. HH!

Sweet golden oldie there! Thats the "You're hooked now for a lifetime!" sort of find, welcome to the addiction that is detecting! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Stellar find, being a native Floridian but my soul is in Pittsburgh, that would be an unreal find. I figure with as many championships the Pittsburgh teams have own I have a good shot. Even though it wot count or matter, that's is a banner find in my eyes. It's the person not the machine. What state did you recover this in, just for curiosity.

I got this about 10 minutes from downtown pittsburgh. I am a yinzer for sure lol

The gentleman who owned the house passed away 3 years ago. And had no surviving family. He left everything to his church. This was his ring. And I know he was a starter for pitt during 1951. When the house was getting cleaned we found lots of old clippings about his football career.
Thanks for the banner vote !!

Pretty awesome for sure, wear it panther proud. The first home I purchased here in Florida from an elderly pan am retiree, cleaned out the attic and found 3 boxes of pirates game programs from late 60s up to the last all star Game I believe at 3 rivers, want to say 95ish. So I have a bias appreciation for your find:p
