It has officially been 4 months since I last detected and after checking the ground almost daily to see if it had thawed enough to dig, I decided today was the day!

I've had a lot of time to locate sites to hit over the winter, but I choose to hit the perimeter of an old home site that was dug by archeologists a number of years ago. I've wanted to hit this area for a a while now, but the grass and weeds were just to high. I got a lot of pull-tab & shotgun shell signals in the 2.5hrs I spent here and finally caught a break when I found an iron horse buckle. I was literally swinging my way back to the truck when I got an 81 - 84 on my AT Pro and though it might be another bottle cap. Man was I ever wrong! I couldn't believe it when I saw the feathers on the face of my first IH! :o Unfortunately, the back of the coin is covered with cancer, but I'll take it until a better one comes along!

I've found Barbers, Walkers & Washington's here in Canada but never an IH! This is a coin I've been looking for for a long time now, hopefully my next IH won't have been pee'd on by horses for years as this one has! :laughing7:

Best of luck to you all,
Dave
