Met up with a hunting buddy today. My first dig of the new year was this big nitro ring and a little exciting for a few seconds. It's costume but still fun to find. My 6th coin of the new year is my first silver of the year a 1940 quarter the was very deep. A few coins later I had the first wheat of the year then a few minutes later I got a deep wheat with another coin in the hole. Yep Silver number two is a 1941 D merc. A good day here in MI as it hit 50 degrees and sunny. A rare day in January here. Ended the hunt with two silvers, 6 wheats, a 1928 Canadian cent, a 1947 nickel, and a 1959 memorial cent. Also $3.74 in clad and the ring. Not sure why but one quarter was wrapped in tape. As you can see I used my extended shaft detector! LOL
