I'm told they're an antique fire apparatus marker and a brass hose coupling, by a friend who is a longtime firefighter. However, he was unable to date it, so anyone with any expertise in this area, TIA!

Here are the pics. Dunno why they didn't upload the first time.

Took a hiatus bc of a few keyboard warriors last year. Plus there's not much to dig in Pennsylvania in the winter, as the ground is like cement. You'll probably see more of me this year as I have some goals to shoot for in terms of permissions.

Someone suggested that these markers can be worth big bucks so I'm having it appraised.

Pretty cool!!!!

Awesome FD finds! Your "marker" is known in collectors' circles as a "Bumper badge" which was usually affixed to the front bumper of a firefighter's personal vehicle. This allowed them entry into an emergency scene, yours obviously being the area of Yeadon Burrough, Pennsylvania. It probably belonged to a VFD member there in the first half of the 1900's. The male coupling and hose clamp are great early relics too! Congrats, Sub 8-)

Thanks so much, THAT is exactly the sort of info I was hoping for! Are these bumper badges worth anything?

EDIT: Just ran a few Google searches for "antique fire dept bumper badge" and the like, didn't really find anything similar. Any idea for a better search string?
