First I button!

Found my 3rd cival war button I think but am confused on the size, this button is larger then the others I have found. Where on a uniform would this larger button be used? I feel lucky to be finding these in Wisconsin. Also a few other finds from same site. Thanks for any information and for this great site.

Perhaps you have only been finding cuff buttons....now you may have a coat button, being a bit larger than cuffs. Congrats on the Infantry button.
