First IHP and a mystery object?

I’ve somehow gone five years without pulling an Indian head penny out of the soil, and today I broke that dry spell! Also fount this heavy brass doodad. I’m guessing it might be a modern grounding cable clamp but can’t find any rounded ones on google… any guesses?

You are correct. Half of a grounding cable clamp from a lightning rod set up.
