First injun.... finally

Doing a quick sweep of the old part of my yard got an iffy signal, down about 3 inches was a green disc next to an iron nail
Hoping it was a old penny I came inside to wash it off and got a glimpse of the "one cent" with a wreath.
Its a 1903 and it is pretty beat up, but a first is a first. Now to find some more.......

Awesome, get that sucker cleaned up. About 9 months ago I was in your shoes. I was talking to another detectorist and was stating that all I wanted to find was an Indian Head. Well, about 7 months ago I was detecting at an old church in Indiana and pulled 13 indians within a 20 foot area. The same day, on my way home I stopped at an old looking abandoned house just down the road and found an 1864 great shape. No "L" in the head band, but great none the less. Keep up the good work!!!

Something silver to go with my large cent would be nice like a capped or seated dime but I will take whatever passes under my coil

Great find. Put that thing inside a raw potato and It will clean right up. You'll be amazed. Just take it out as soon as all the green is gone or it will start eating on the penny.
