Looks like a Canadian or British large penny from late 1800s. Nice find

Nice find Captain! Try taking a flat picture of it - the angle shots are hard to see all the lines on the coin.

Looking forward to a positive ID on his coin. At first glance that reverse does not look like the Canadien LC's that I am familiar with. Congrats on a nice find.

Looks like a 1800s Canadian LC, sweet find

Nice find! :occasion14:

I believe it is Canadian, possibly British, but definitely a penny.

I vote 1800s Canadian as well - nice find! :icon_thumright:

The reverse is NOT a Canadian LC. Searching....

That's Queen Victoria.

Looks like a good one to me, Canadian by what all the others are saying.

it is Jamaican.
EDIT, I did not refresh before I posted.

Cool find,,
Love finding oversized coins and then trying to figure out what I have found. Congrats

Not "all" others, Mr Digger in post #5 didn't agree with Canadian.
This is another prime example of just because "most" agree on something doesn't make it so.

Thanks guys that definitely is the coin.

Nice ID. I was pretty sure that would not end up to be a Canadian LC.
