First Merc!

Went out today on a break from work to the same place I went last week where I found the 1940 quarter and found a few Wheaties. Like everyone says "I was walking back to the car and the GT beeped with a 74 VDI. Thinking it was another wheat I dug and out popped this 1918 worn out Merc. Couldn't be happier. HH all. WH

Yeah the back is almost smooth. That is what I saw first when the clod broke open. Like Christmas. Only better

Congrats on your silver Merc! I treasure my one & only Merc dug so far. Mine was in a mini-park in very hard dirt near hunt's end after I'd dug only junk, while my son was gleefully digging a big modern coin spill not far from me. When my Merc emerged -- pure thrill! I keep it in my jewelry box, separate from my other finds.
