Struck out at my first site today because the ground was still mostly frozen, but I went to a spot where I pull CW lead probably 75% of the time I go there and today was no different. I pulled a 58-cal and a 62-cal musket ball in an area I know I've hammered to death before, and then pulled this Union infantry button (ID'd in the What Is It forum). It's not in great shape, but it's my first military button so I'll take it!

Excellent first find! I'd be excited if that were me! Thanks for posting!

Awesome piece of great American history you have there!

Beautiful bird!!!

That's a Great find for your first! Congratulations and keep hitting that site!!

nice button find, of course I like the lead too

Nice finds again! Doesn't seem like the spot has been hunted out yet with those relics coming out the ground. Id keep hitting that area and take things slow. you will be very surprised how much more stuff you will find when you slow down and hit small areas thoroughly. Good luck there in the future! Maybe something Confederate will pop out! you never know!

Thanks! What I'm really hoping to find is more colonial coinage there. The KGII I dug there two years ago went unidentified for 6 months til I took it out of the olive oil and was able to see enough of an outline to (literally) draw what I saw and put up on here to be identified because it wasn't visible enough to see in a photo. Thanks again for the ID earlier!

Nice eagle button! Love the lead too

Congratulations! I can still remember my first button. It seemed like it took forever. Bullet after bullet but no button. You'll never forget your first button!

WTG on the finds as well as the Eagle Button!

Alway enjoy those first finds....WTG!

Nice! Still on the hunt for my first military button. Keep 'em coming!
