Wife got me a detector while I was away so been giving it a try for about a week now. Today I got out for about an hour and got my first non clad find, an 1829 large cent. Not in greatest shape but I think it's still cool. Gotta say this is addicting, can't wait for next trip out. Attach2436_20180628_193627.webpAttach2437_20180628_193632.webp

How awesome! Good for you. The addiction gets worse, but is is manageable.

Hug your wife...she is a keeper.

Are you kidding me!!!! That’s a huge bucket lister for me and I think in in great condition. We like hearing the story behind the find, the where, the how, we love the setup. Congratulations on a super find I’d still be soaring.

Great find for your 1st non-clad coin --- there is a very good chance there are other good targets where you found that ----- I have not found a Large Cent for a few years! HAPPY HUNTING & Good Luck on your next "Fun Day" seeking a piece of History like your 1829 LARGE CENT!

Good work! know how u feel. 🙌 My first was a really nice V Nickel...I was floating! 😁 What machine did your wife get you?

That one looks pretty good to me. Believe me I have seen a lot worse.

Keep swingin. You are just getting started. The more you do the more you learn and as you learn your finds will get better and better.

Excellent find. It is actually in pretty good condition for a dug coin. Congratulations!

Actually, that Large Cent is in pretty good condition considering its a 189 years old and been in the dirt for who knows how long. You may run across one every now and then that is in better shape, but dont knock yours. Congrats on your first non clad coin.

Welcome to tnet. Didn’t take you long to dig a nice coin. Congratulations.

Congratualtions on the nice old copper! :occasion14:

First week in and you're already in the 1800s club! Congrats to you. You east coast guys......

A large cent in your first week is great, I'm still looking for mine.

What RJ really means is that the addiction manages to get better!

Great find! I've found wheats in much, much worse condition!
