Temp. got up to 55 today and decided it was time to break in the new digging tool. Picked up the hunting buddy and headed to our little park in town. I have hunted this park many times, but still usually find something. Got my first signal and it read 5 inches deep. Stuck the Mighty AP in the ground and it went in about 3 inches and stopped. The frost is sticking around for a little while longer. It was extremely difficult digging, or I should say chipping. Well I finally got to 5 inches and out pops this ring. It is only gold plated, but still a good way to start the year. I did manage to bend my new digging tool in this hard ground. :'( I guess it will be a few more weeks before I head back out.

You got it dirty ::)

L 1777,

glad you got out; sounds like the ground is
still in poor shape.

Rings are nice finds, makes the day, even if
it is plated.

Noticed the blinds on your window are crooked,
could not be that APs' digging tool got bent ;) ;D

have a good un....................
SHERMANVILLE

My AP digger in enroute...I should have it this week. Now I just need a week of mild temps to loosen the ground...

Cool hunt, I here folks will tell a lie to the whole world and even insult friends to get one of those tools. ;D

You brute, just like a kid at Christmas. Couldn't wait and now its bent. Don't play so rough with your toys. Bongo

Great find for a little while out. Heck, its a good find for a week out!!!!!

Just a thought, but you could have a buddy weld a flat, light reinforcement bar on the spline after its been straightened and then grind the part near the tip with a slight bevel. At least it will keep it straight(er) for a while under those harsh conditions.

If nothing else, everytime you use your digger, you will remember the ring! Of course that will make you dig more which will make you find more which will make you dig more..........etc... Pretty soon youll wear that one out and have to buy another one! Good going! It will keep you entertained for years to come!

Who would do such despicable things? That's appalling!

Oh no, the Mighty AP Mighty Fine Digging Tool is never sold. They are hand crafted and made with the finest materials right here in the USA. The only way to get one is to win one of the competitions held on TNet. The digging tools are rare - as rare as a Double Eagle gold piece, and just as valuable. Some of us have been known to lie in order to get one. Often imitated, but never equalled - that's the Mighty AP Digging Tool.

Beautiful ring for sure!

Nice antique ring. By the way, I think you need to wait just a little longer to go hunting, unless you are going to take a pick with you, like a miner might use. As you can see Stainless steel can bend and it does. I had a hit a few years ago and it was under a big stone and it was frozen in the ground. I took out my trusty Stainless Steel Digger and proceded to bend it. I didn get the silver dime out of the ground. I had to take my digger and straighten it and re temper it.

Best of Luck, Ringfinder

Oooops! I didnt realize that Treasure Trails! Newbie error. Maybe I should have said...."Wear that one out although almost impossible and "aquire" another one if you could."

I guess its time to be beat with a $19.95 radioshack metal detector and stoned with the lead fishing weights it finds. (My experience is that is all it would find).

Ill be more careful next time! ;D

AP, thanks for a great digger. I can see why people would lie just to get one. Thanks to everyone else who replied. You all should watch for AP's next contest, because these are really a great tool.

Nothing wrong with starting the year with a goldplated ring....But I will say this, that there AP digging tool kinda looks like a spear in the pic........Does he make spears? lolol Put me down for one! HH

Dang Lucky! You bent it! :o That must have been some awful powerful leverage! :D

Great ring!

Nana :)
