First post! This weekend's results (with a little silver)
I got a detector (White's Prizm II) for Father's Day this year, my first one since my old White's Coinmaster II that I had when I was about 14. This weekend was the first real chance that I've had to take it out for a decent amount of time. Everything that has come out of the ground so far has been clad ($2.21), but I'll take it! This afternoon, as I was swinging the detector I noticed a little shiny chain on the ground... yep, 0.925 silver!
It's a 16" sterling James Avery chain. Looks like it fell off when the clasp got stretched out. Had this been in the ground, I never would have dug it since I had the discrimination set to block out nickel/pulltab/foil. Maybe I should turn the discrimination down
I'm trying really hard to dig some silver coinage, but I'm pretty darn happy with this. Maybe next time I'll get that silver dime!
