That's a mercury or liberty dime minted from 1916 to 1945.

Barber dimes were minted from 1892 through 1915.

What you want on that particular coin is a 1942, 2 over 1 mint error.

Still a great find! Would your old machine have found it or??

HH ALL

my mistake i had my brother doing the posting while i was out digging a bit more lol

Nice merc, congrats...

Sweet silver Merc with nice detail! Congrats!
Somebody was probably sitting in the shade between the trees and lost it long ago.

It's actually called a "Winged Liberty" dime...It's often called a "Mercury dime" or Merc here, but the use of the term Mercury is a misnomer

Beautiful dime. Nice way to baptize your new detector:thumbsup:

Awesome!, first of many more with that etrac! , good luck with it, you're gonna love it!

That's the right way to train a new detector!

Sweet Merc. Congrats on swinging your new detector coil over it. I can take you to the spot where I found my 1st merc last summer.

Barber/Merc/Rosie??? Who cares!!! Congrats on the silver!!!!

Awesome WooHoo!!! and congratz on the ETrac

Congratulations on the silver dime, may you be blessed with many more this year!

Awesome Merc.... Mercury....... Winged Liberty....... Ahhhhh Great Silver Dime !!!!!! [emoji75]

FOR MY PERK I FOUND ME A MERC.

Congratulations

Very nice looking Merc.

Congrats on the Merc! And don't worry about numismatic terms because you would go nuts if you corrected everyone in America that called 1/100th of a dollar a "Penny". It is a Cent.

Not sure how deep yet gonna test later so far I've gone down to 2ft for a metal rod lol
