First Reale

Second time out in 3+ weeks because of all the insanity in the world... Definitely paid off! Found in a field where one of the first settlers of my hometown built a cabin in late 1780s/early 1790s... Can anyone see a date on it? All I see is the 4 at the end

Great find there! It's tough to see in the photo but I think you should be able to get a rough ID on it even if you don't have a date that's visible.

nice find! It's spelled either "real" or "reales." There isn't a middle ground of "reale."

Unique, very nice find! try a pencil rubbing and/or shine a bright light edge on to the coin and observe with magnifying glass.

Thanks... I used a flashlight from the side and it looks like there is a very faint 7 there so I'm thinking it's a 1774
