Monday, I headed out to an mid 1800's homesite. I've hunted this site before and have found alot of cool relics and several coins.. I grabbed the Garrett AT Gold and started detecting. I found several rounds balls of various sizes.
I was working along the brickwork that I believe to be the back yard when I got a nice tone and out comes a old smashed thimble.
The next target is something I have only heard of.. I believe this is a hammered round ball, shaped and detailed into a fish, but I am not sure.
I did find my second type set. This one is quite a bit smaller. It has the letter "E". I can't figure why this was there. No historical reference to a newpaper or reel press in that area.. Puzzling!! This is the second press type that I have found in less than a month...
you can see the groove were it set in the print holder.
All in all had an ok hunt.. I didn't get to move around the area I wanted to, but I did have fun! Thanks for reading GfH
I have more pics and info on my website Gonehunting for History
