Well I've been wanting to try the new detector but rain has been coming down since I got it.But today was purdy so I got out for a few hours before the SuperBowl game this evening.I wanted to put it to the test so I picked a place I hammered the crap out of with the GTI 1500.And it came through found a few finds that had been missed.I feel good with it already, like the sounds as it helps separate targets for me and the depth was there too. Those two things alone is most likely why I missed these few targets. Not to much for finds but I do like the old mounts I found today. Not sure on age but thinking purdy early.Couple buttons flat/& a pewter, pieces of pipe, arrowhead fragments, lead shot Etc.
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

WTG Pete.

I'm still learning my explorer as well, got mine back in November. It has proven itself a couple of times with coins and nails in the same hole.

Now I just need to get back to some properties I hit in the past and see what I missed.

Thanks Bob,
Yea I saw enough from it yesterday that going back over what I've hit with the GTI is a good Idea!

looks 100 years or so later

Once you get some time in you'll be fairly confident you're not leaving much behind. What will impress you even more than the depth will be the discrimination.

 Yea I think I'm going to like it.I'm green with it for sure. The only thing yesterday that I had to deal with was the recovery time. These little sites along the rivers here are always full of iron either from the site it self or modern such as pieces of crab pots and such.I hit places at this site yesterday that it wanted to stay blanked out from thresh hold sound from these type targets.Which made it a slow go but on the other hand it forces me to take my time.So I don't mind. It's how I found the two mounts.I was swinging and before it blanked out it gave the high pitch sound. So I waited & swung over them again. As It was different then just going quite.Once I did same thing high pitch then quite. So I dug and sure enough they were down there mixed with old iron pieces & fragments.Once up out the hole found the little things.
Thanks IP for the help awhile back.(pm's) It seems like it would be hard to figure them out.But I don't think it will be to bad.Time will tell.
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:
