I am catching up on posting finds...I consider a hunt good if I find at least one good thing. After a few hours and trying a few locations...finally ended the day with a first...a seated half dime! Oh yes... Smile... Was thrilled to see that shiny speck come out. I can't believe how small and thin it was. 1853...with arrows..I learn a lot each time I dig a new cool coin. I thought it was 1863 at first but better light proved me wrong. I found the article interesting...

I also found a small lead piece...kind of bell shaped...any thoughts?
I also found old glass shards, a Crackerjack token, and eh hem...I think illicit paraphernalia... Silly me, I thought it was a glass dogbone.

Also found a puffball mushroom. That's a puff I don't mind taking.

Congrats to you! :occasion14:
Still waiting to find a Seated anything!
Nice pile of goodies on the table. Keep swinging!!

Looks like a great day digging to me. The dog bone looks like it was lost prior to any self medication taking place.

Great job a gorgeous half dime and a beautiful weed pipe. Time to celebrate!!

MMMMM...I cleaned it out....with soap and water only :).

Congrats on the half dime and other nice finds. Thanks for sharing the article on the silver.

Congrats on checking off another first! Great bunch of finds..

Congrats on a very nice looking Half Dime. That is one bone that I would not throw your dog ! He might start walking around meowing like a cat.

Congrats to you. I just found my first seated half dime a couple of days ago and I am still excited about it. Keep up the good work.

Congrats on your first Half Dime, a great day when one digs a first. As of next year the pipe material will be legal in our country, and a question that is being asked at the border "Have you or do you smoke?"
The little aluminum mushroom looking item in the last photos is a worn cleat off a sports shoe (football/soccer)

Thanks, Jeff! Firsts are exciting but so far, follow up finds are pretty good too ;).

Thanks, pepperj! Is your country Canada? Thanks for input on mushroom/bell. It is not evident in the photo, but it is heavy...I am pretty sure it is made of lead. A shoe full of these would surely slow someone down and oil literally be a "lead foot".
