First Silver of 2011 - Coin & Ring

Hi Everyone,

I posted this ring a week or so ago, and thought I would updated you.

This signal rung in at 3 inches deep with a VDI of 18-20 on my White's Eagle SL II 90.
I was expecting a nickle. I opened the hole, and found this bright, shiny ring.

After taking it to a the local Jeweler MD, he stated that it is nickel silver with a synthetic opal.

Happy Hunting,

Any markings inside the ring? Merc at 3", virgin yard? Either way, two great finds!

It's hard to tell from your picture but the magic numbers don't lie 14K, etc. Nice score on the Merc too. The ring looks old too. Let us know what you find out

Congrats! It could be gold plated, so it's worth a trip to the jewelry to be sure.

The ring is unmarked and a magnet has no effect.
This property has never been hunted,
Any help on IDing the ring is appreciated!

Thanks!

Congrats on the merc, if the ring gave a nickel signal it is not silver but has a chance of gold.
