Winter in Pennsylvania has been brutal and I am so stir crazy it isn't funny. I finally was able to get out this weekend and the ground is finally thawing.

Got permission for an old stone farmhouse and spent and hour or so with good results. Starting finding a bunch of wheaties and only scouting out the place. Found my first silver, 1941 Mercury dime and a clad Kenndy half dollar (only 2nd half dollar ever found).

Overall I had a blast and am sore to boot. It is amazing how you need to get into shape to go metal detecting as often as I do.

Last year, 2013, had a mild winter in PA and I had over a dozen silver coins by March, with 111 silver coins for the year. Hopefully I hit some good spots and catch up.

Thanks for reading and good luck to all.
